We took our love of painting furniture, our wish to have a retail store, and our desire to empower others and opened The Rusty Dahlia on the beautiful North Oregon Coast.
When you enter The Rusty Dahlia, you will be greeted with new and old home décor and gifts. There is an abundance of upcycled and repurposed pieces of furniture, as well as, original pieces begging for your creative touch.
Ask about our wedding or gift registry!
Not only do we want to be an inspiration when you decorate your home and provide a place to find the perfect gift, we also want to empower your DIY, creative side. About 9 years ago, while I was heading to Portland, Mary asked me to pick up some Chalk Paint® by Annie Sloan, so we could try it. The shop owner wouldn’t let me leave until she gave me a tutorial on all of it’s great uses! Mary and I started painting everything; frames, furniture, glass jars, windows, you can literally paint anything with this magical paint! We want more than anything, for you to feel our same excitement!
We have been teaching Chalk Paint 101 workshops, kitchen cabinet painting, and sign making since opening in Astoria using Chalk Paint® by Annie Sloan. When you come into the shop, we are here to help you learn the Annie Sloan Chalk Paint Method, walk you through the rainbow of chalk paint colors, and support you in creating a masterpiece, whether it’s a sign or a completed furniture piece!
